Throw Back Thursday - Cow Painting, 2004

As a somewhat regular segment, I would like to post some of my earlier (and sometimes earliest) artwork, just for kicks. I hope you enjoy it.

This one is 10 years old. As a freshman at the University of Texas (Hook 'Em), I lived in the dorms. I was fortunate enough to share a room with my best friend, and one day, in a desperate attempt to get some creative juices flowing, we resorted to playing a game I made up in high school. This game should definitely be attempted during times of boredom, and can be played by the young and old alike.

How to Play:
Player A comes up with a nonsensical setting and characters that Player B then must attempt to draw. Once Player B finishes said drawing and Player A has a good laugh, Player B then takes his/her revenge turn.
Rules:
The player giving the directions must come up with the scene spontaneously and can only give directions in the form of a single sentence or phrase. (i.e. A cat playing tennis with an hippo, who is balancing on a beach ball in the mountains.)

This game can be done using the simplest of tools; sticks and sand, marker and white board, pen and paper, or it can be taken to another level. This particular turn I completed in the form of a vertical diptych painting.

I believe my directions for this one went something like:
"Paint a longhorn rooster brushing his teeth while bouncing with his pogo stick on a ball in cat infested waters."

To this day, it is still one of her favorite paintings of mine.
Go figure.
